FESTIVITIES IN HONOR TO SAN ANTON/JANUARY 17

In the neighborhood with the same name marks the feast of the animal´s patron. The celebration of a mass and the subsequent blessing of animals, continue with the processional image transfer, ending the day with the traditional taste of buñuelos and chocolate.



CROSS DAY/ 1-3 MAY

In the first days of the month of May Alhaurín el Grande lives one of his large parties of glory, the day of the cross.

Celebrated from 1 to 3 May, when the brotherhood of the Santa Vera Cruz (the greens) organizes events and religious cults, parades of bands and processions in honor of its mail owner, the Cristo de la Vera Cruz.It´s singular how thw brothers of the brotherhood adorn their balconies with crosses and greesn cloths these days.

FESTIVITIES IN HONOR TO SAN ISIDRO LABRADOR/ MAY 15

Held in the neighborhood of San Isidro, where various activities are carried out.

They include the national gathering of bobbin, as well as markets and exhibitions of products, but above all the Cachorrena tasting and Mojete, Alhaurin dishes.

This feast of the Cachorrena, wich is part of the Festival of San Isidro, has been organized as unique turist provincial festivitie.



JESUS DAY / JUNE

The day of Jesus held eight day after Corpus Christi, extending also to the previous two days. Thus, the brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno (los moraos) organizes events and worship religious, parades of bands and processions in hornor to Nuestro padre Jesús Nazareno, making it another of the great festivals of glory of the town. Brothers of the brotherhood adorn balconies with purple cloths in these days of celebration in honor of it´s holder.

FESTIVITIES OF NUESTRA SEÑORA DE GRACIA/ AUGUST 15

The festivity of the patron saint of Alhaurin el Grande is recieved with great joy by the neirghbors.

Each year, three days prior to August 15, the image of Ntra. sra. de Gracia visit three districts of the town, which are adorned for this purpose.

The day arrived 15 comes out in procession of the image, wich is carried by the young people who reach the age of majority that year.

ROMERIA IN HONNOR OF CRISTO DE LAS AGONIAS/ SEPTEMBER

Acts, which take place in honor to the agonies of christ, beginning with the celebration of a mass in the parish that follows the traditional parade of floats and riders accompanying the image up to the Finca la Mota, where a day of fun and entertainment takes place.

CARNIVAL

They have become one of the events most eagerly awaited not only by the Alhaurin, but also by carnival of the Malaga’s province.

Years of tradition and work have won that contest of groupings has a reputation beyond our province recognized.

This has activities, such as conferences, children’s parties, etc.

MAY FAIR

The fair of Alhaurin el Grande has become one of the most important in the province of Malaga.

The fair day is enjoyed on the streets of the historical center of the town, where large number of people congregate to enjoy dancing and good atmosphere.

This gives way to the night fair, being held at the fairground, where are concentrated the traditional attractions of fair, booths, etc.

EASTER, HOLY WEEK

The season of lent leads to Saint Week, in which passion, death and resurrection Os Jesus are commemorated by the two congregations oh the passion of the town:

The Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno (Los Moraos) and the Brotherhood of the Santa Vera Cruz (Los Verdes).

Among the activities carried out the passion of Jesus live is remarkable.

Next to processional outputs, both congregations made a commendable cultural action involving a good part of the young people of Alhaurin.

Tradition and the good work have been declared national tourist interest fest in Andalusia.

PROCESSIONAL EXIT OF NUESTRO PADRE JESUS RESUCITADO.

REPRESENTATION OF THE SACRIFICE OF ISAAC, FIRED OF MOTHER AND CHILD, THE STONING OF ADULTEROUS WOMEN, THIRTY COINS, THE HOLY DINNER, PRAYER IN THE ORCHARD AND ARREST.
